British Rhythm And Blues Vinyl Records
British rhythm and blues (or R&B) developed as a major musical movement in the early 1960s, initially in London, but also in other urban centres in the UK, as predominately young white male musicians attempted to emulate the style and recordings of African American rhythm and blues artists. Commentators often distinguish rhythm and blues bands from, on the one hand, beat bands, who were influenced by a wider variety of American forms of music, particularly rock and roll and rockabilly, and on the other, by "purist" blues musicians, who particularly emulated Chicago electric blues artists.
